“It is a sense of enormous expectation, the sense that one’s life is important, that great achievements are within one’s capacity, and that great things lie ahead.”
-Ayn Rand, Introduction to The Fountainhead.
“…it is a confirmation of the spirit of youth, proclaiming man’s glory, showing how much is possible.” - Ayn Rand, Introduction to The Fountainhead.
“It is those few that move the world and give life its meaning.” -Ayn Rand, Introduction to The Fountainhead.
Ayn Rand is one of my favorite authors. Her economic and life philosophies are bold; she has intense faith in man-kind. I would recommend reading Atlas Shrugged to all.
I am leaving my personal commentary short today, for the headlines are extensive. They are not to depress, but to inspire creative thought and action. Read them thoroughly and fire me questions.

Buzzword of the week: Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Indicator
“An indicator based on the nationality of the model on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit addition that attempts to provide insight on the stock market return for that year. The indicator suggests that when the cover model is from the U.S. the S&P 500 will generate a return above its historical rate while a non-American cover model leads to under performance by the S&P 500 for the year.
Between 1978 and 2008, the average return of the S&P 500 was 10.5%, but when the cover model was American the average annual return of the S&P 500 was 13.9%. When the cover model was non-American, the average annual return for the S&P 500 was 7.2%. However, the best performing year for the S&P 500 was 34.1% in 1997 when the cover model was born in the Czech Republic. The worst performing cover model was from Argentina when the S&P 500 generated a return of -23.4%. The indicator was first coined by the Bespoke Investment Group.” -Investopedia
This year Marisa Miller was on the cover. She is American born. Terrible indicator for this year.
