Rocket Scientists’ Patriotism. 6/10/09

The summer months are a time of transition.  Transition out of school and into days of freedom for teachers and students.  For parents, it marks a period of creativity and management of their children, no longer willing homework completion, but now directing boredom fighting activities.   For business owners, employees begin to take extended vacations and leave the office early to get out and play in the sun, requiring managers to get creative with who to place where to pick up the slack.  And for others, it’s the perfect time to relocate and/or begin house hunting.

Hive Fiving Ankle B’s. 6/3/09

As a marathon coach one learns the art of getting through a marathon isn’t solely based on the number of miles a runner / walker has completed in training.  Nor is it solely based on their diet and supposed “in-shapeness”.

Success on marathon day has another key component that many fail to mention when blogging or writing on-line schedules for the masses to follow.

In the late 1970s, LA Dodger, Glenn Burke, popularized the act as he congratulated teammate Dusty Baker after hitting a homerun.  Each year on the third Thursday of April, we celebrate its greatness. Technological advancements leave us capable of carrying out this act virtually.
